American Idol Success

Numerous contestants have found American Idol Success just by auditioning and appearing on national television as a contestant. The general TV audience probably just remembers the winners and runner ups. However the true fans are able to recall other participants who made it to the top 24 or even 12.

Season 1

In the first season, Kelly Clarksonwas the winner and she has been truly successful in market sales of her cds

Justin Guarini was the runner up to Kelly Clarkson, and he is currently a cohost on Idol Chat and idol Tonight.

The following contestants aren't well known but they have recorded and found idol success since their appearance on American Idol in 2002.

Tamyra Gray was voted off in the fourth slot. There was much controversy following, because many people felt that she was the best singer.

RJ Helton was voted off in 5th place.

Jim Verraros finished in 10th place.

Season 2

Ruben Studdard was the winning American Idol in season 2.

Clay Aiken was the runner up to Ruben Studdard.

Joshua Gracin finished in 4th place after Kimberley Locke in season 2. Josh was a Marine who had permission to perform on the show. His music genre is country music.

Carmen Rasmusen the 6th place finalist

Kimberly Caldwell was the number 7 finalist. She is currently appears as co-host on Idol Chat and Idol Tonight

Corey Clark was disqualified on 04/03/2003 by the producers of American Idol. Two years later Corey Clark came out with accusations against Paula Abdul, one of the judges on American Idol. Details can be found here at this link

Season 3 Idol Success

Fantasia Barrino is the American Idol winner of season 3. Her success has gone beyond selling music cds. Fantasia Barrino has a best selling book "Life Is Not A Fairy Tale" The book was made into a TV movie. "On April 10, 2007, Fantasia began starring as Celie in the Broadway musical, The Color Purple." from the Wikipedia

Diana DeGarmo finished as the runner up in 2nd place after Fantasia. She was only sixteen when she was a contestant still in high school. Jasmine Trias the number 3 finalist in season 3.

Jennifer Hudson a success This young lady has been an astonishing success as one of the finalists from season three of American Idol. She was voted off as number 6. Jennifer Hudson landed a supporting role in the movie "Dreamgirls"
